America and their war on drugs

"Please Remember,
America will only be Free for as long as American Citizens will Stand and be Brave."

[Rev. Neil Colton]

The War on Drugs

America was once 'the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave'. But now it is far more accurate to call it,
'America.. Land of the Oppressed and Home of the Depressed and Fearful'.
A land whose Constitution reads 'of the people, by the people, and for the people'. As most of you already know, it has become, of the government, by the government, and for the government. Since federal drug laws are totally unconstitutional, this country hasn't been of the people, by the people and for the people, since the first federal drug law was passed. The subject of America and the war on drugs is long over due to be addressed, because about 1 out of every 300 Americans were arrested last year on drug charges. America has been at war for over 20 years and it is hurting our Great Nation.

What the Government is spending on this war. Click Here for the latest figures.
When I first started to research the war on drugs, it didn't take long to realize that it would take writing a book to cover the subject. So why bother ? What good will it do ? 1,000's of people have written about how wrong this war is, but we are still at war. With the Republican party in control of the White House, The House of Representatives, and Congress, I don't see it getting better anytime soon. The TV news has made quite clear, Republicans seem to like being in a war. It gives them a better chance to get re-elected. Personally, I don't like war much. The war on terrorism isn't much different. By declaring that war, Republicans made it clear to the world, that we are now at war till the end. The end of what ? Time I guess ? After all, the Bible makes it clear that terrorism and acts of terror will be throughout the world till the end of time.
So what inspired me to write about it now ? On 9/4/02 I was witness to several N.Y. State police breaking several laws in their search for hemp plants. ( also known as marijuana ) When the police break the law,... there is no law !
So with camera in hand I set out to get pictures of crimes in progress by the N.Y. state police. In hindsight some people tell me that this was bad for my health, and upsetting the police was not good judgment on my part. To that I say, yes it has been very bad for my health, and ... America will only be free for as long as American citizens will stand and be brave. Now as for upsetting the police, if they weren't breaking the law on 9/4/02, you wouldn't be reading this. So I upset some local terrorists with badges.  By dictionary definition, terrorists is a good term to use to describe the policemen's actions in my yard that day.  Last I knew we had a war against terrorism and terrorists, don't we still ?  When the police start disregarding our Constitution, it is time  for all of us to call them on their actions. When policemen get sworn in, first and foremost their job is to protect the United States Constitution and the rights of the American people. When any of them try to enforce unconstitutional laws, then they are common criminals, terrorists, and enemies of the American people.

As a patriotic American

As a patriotic American and a minister that still believes in the God on our money,  I have read the Constitution of the United States, The Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights. Reading and understanding those 3 historical documents makes it quite clear, that the war on drugs is totally unconstitutional. As a minister of God, I don't have to read my Bible past the first chapter to see 'God's words' on the subject of making laws against his plants.
Genesis 1:29
"And God said behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon all of the face of the Earth, and every tree with seed in it's fruit; you shall have them for food."
Not only does hemp have seeds, scientist say that hemp seeds are one of the two most nutritious food sources known to man !
Acts 5:29
"We must obey God rather than man"
The way I would understand it, no Christian can support the war on drugs. After all, Christian means 'Christ like' and there is no way that 'Jesus Christ' would have supported laws against his dad's ( God's ) plants. If you support the war on drugs and you think you are a Christian, then I would suggest that you put some time into learning what being Christian really means. I would also hope that you would take the time to rethink your position on the war we are fighting.
1917 brought the 18th Amendment  making alcohol illegal. Historically, this Amendment brought on the birth of organized crime in the USA and some say in the world. The 21st  Amendment in 1933 repealed the 18th amendment after organized crime started and the Government figured out that usage went up when you make a substance illegal. Further proof of this can be seen in several countries around the world. In 1972 drugs were decriminalized in Holland, when that happened, drug prices went down, and usage when down. Now isn't lowering drug use in our country what we all want ? Making laws against them won't help, history has taught us that.

So what can we do ?

So what can we do ? Well, teaching our children the truth in schools instead of the lies they are being taught now would be a good start. Parents being open and honest with their kids about their own personal experiences in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's would also be good. Sadly because of the war on drugs, many parents lie to their children or cover up the truth from their children, forcing the kids to go out and learn from their own mistakes. If you have done cocaine, speed, acid, smoked pot, etc.. It would be a smart thing to share with your kids what you did and why. Also tell them why you stopped doing them if you have and why you are still doing them if you haven't. Believe me when I tell you, informed children make better choices in life most of the time. Not sharing your stories with your kids leaves them to go out and learn from their teenage friends. Which one do you think would help your kids more, your experiences, or their friends ?

How cocaine is made

Would you rather that your kids knew cocaine was bad because of the way they make it ? Cocaine is made by putting coca plants into a big vat, add diesel fuel, have some natives dance around on it in the 100+ degree sun light sweating like pigs for a few hours. Then you pull out what is left of the plant, have the natives get out, and wait a few days for the diesel fuel, human sweat, etc.. to evaporate, and walla, you have cocaine. Now would you rather your kids heard that, the true story or what I was told by friends when I was young ? Here is what I was told. "Cocaine is an all natural plant put here by God. It is no worse for you than pot is, hell, they're in the same drug category, how much different can they be"?  My friends couldn't have been much more wrong ! Yes, cocaine comes from a plant, but that is all that they had right. Cocaine can kill you and it does kill people every year, no one ever died from smoking pot.

America the land of the free, or is it ?

Did you know that America, a land based on freedom of religion and called the land of the free and the home of the brave, has a higher percentage of their population in jail then any other country in the world? They do ! 80% of those people are in jail on drug charges.

Yes this is a sad time for American history.
As I recall, when the United States Government declared their War on Drugs, I heard on the TV news that: According to recent Government surveys, 40%-60% of all adult Americans use an illegal drug at least once a month or more. In a Democracy, like this country is supposed to be, that is a big percentage of the people not to have rights, wouldn't you think ?
Only 10-15% of the population is gay, but gays have rights. So why do gays have rights at 10-15% of the population, yet drug users have no rights being about 50% of the population ? Sadly it all seems to boil down to the money the United States Government is making off  illegal drugs.

Dateline NBC

Dateline NBC did a special on the war on drugs a few years ago. In that show they did their best to cover all sides of the war on drugs. They interviewed smugglers, growers, policemen on the streets and a D.E.A. officer. When talking to the D.E.A. officer he said "We have lost the war on drugs. For every grow room we take down, 2 more are started with in a week to replace it". Then he said, "No matter where in the United States you live, there is a grow room some where on your block. Town, city, country, it doesn't matter. If you don't think there is a grow room on your block, then you are naive".  He went on to say... "we have lost the war on drugs". So the interviewer asked him, if we have lost the war on drugs, then why don't we admit it and give it up ?
To that the D.E.A. officer said "Frankly it has proven to be too profitable". He went on to say, there is far more money than we thought possible ! When this war was started police equipment in our country was old, run down, and small in numbers. But now most of the police equipment in the country is new. We have far more police cars, trucks, helicopters, policemen, etc.. Money taken from the drug traffickers, pays for 75-90% of all police equipment in the country. If we stopped the war on drugs, the drug cartels might have better equipment than we do.

As I pointed out to a N.Y. state policeman a month or so before I wrote this, what the D.E.A. officer said could be easily translated as:
( and many people all over the world have translated it this way )
Handling more illegal drug money than any other country in the world, the U.S. Government is potentially the largest and most dangerous drug cartel in the world today. Because they make unconstitutional laws to try and justify their actions, and they break God's top 10 list by stealing all of their product.

Why the war on drugs is un-Constitutional

Now let's take a look at some of the reasons why the war on drugs is unconstitutional. The men who wrote the Constitution of the United States were  an extremely intelligent group of men.  They wrote it the way they did so that our government could never have too much power over the individual states or our rights as Americans. After all, to form this government, they were declaring war against their existing government of Great Britain. The Constitution clearly states that federal law covers this, that, and the other. ALL other laws are to be made on a state to state basis. drugs... are not covered in this, that, and the other. So by our constitution it is clear that our Government had no Constitutional right to make federal laws against drugs.
The facts go something like this: The day our Government first passed federal drug laws, our country became, Of the Government, by the Government, and for the Government. Instead of
"Of the People, By the People and for the People." It is truly sad how few people realized this when it was happening. So how and when did this all start ? It started with cocaine and opium abuse in the mid to late 1800's and the early 1900's. They were totally legal, but overuse was noticeably hurting peoples lives. So our Government spent over 15 years trying to figure out how to regulate drugs on a federal level, knowing full well that is was a state issue that they were challenging. What they came up with, try to form a world wide ban on importing and exporting some drugs. It took several years but legal or not, they pulled it off in I think 1915. Over the next few years, opium, cocaine, heroin, and alcohol, all were deemed illegal drugs. So did this stop the use of those substances ? Not at all ! In fact, Walt Disney a name every American knows, was well known for not going anywhere without his snuff container full of cocaine. So did his work suffer from this drug use ? ( Laugh out loud ), I don't think so. He is remembered in American history as one of the greatest minds of the 20th century. All of us and our kids loved the movies he made when he was using cocaine. You didn't think he came up with the polka-dotted elephants in Dumbo after drinking coffee did you ? Even though there were laws against cocaine, it was still in Coca Cola until the 1929. To those of you that didn't know that fact, there is a reason for the old commercials that said: things go better with Coca Cola, things go better with Coke. It was because Coca Cola had cocaine in it.

The first hemp laws

When you research the history of hemp ( or marijuana ) in America, you will probably find it the most controversial part of the war on drugs to most Americans. There are several reasons for this controversy. First off, the first hemp laws in America were passed in 1619 and they were must grow laws. If you were a farmer living in America and you didn't grow hemp, you would be jailed or kicked out of the country as a non patriot. In fact,  Cannabis hemp was legal tender (money) in most of  America from 1631 until the early 1800s. Thomas Jefferson risked being beheaded by the Chinese, by going into China and smuggling out hemp seeds. Benjamin Franklin, started the first paper mill in America and all the paper was made out of hemp. Wars were fought over hemp and without it, America never would have won the Revolutionary war. In the 1920's during alcohol prohibition, almost every newspaper in the country was running ads for smoking hemp and hash ( a hemp by product ) the only legal high left. The fact is, hemp was in 80% of all human medicines when it was made illegal.  NO, no one has ever died from smoking hemp. All of these facts and many more, can be found in the book 'The Emperor Wears No Clothes By Jack Herer, a book written about America hemp history. ( Click Here to read the Emperor book online )
On TV on the history channel this winter, they did the history of illegal drugs. On that show they explained that hemp and hash made their way around the world mostly brought back as spoils of war, or offered as a gift to kings in far away lands. In the late 1800's a Turkish Prince brought hash to America and he sat down with our Congress, Senators, and the President of the United States and had what the history channel called, "the biggest pot party until Woodstock 93 years later".
In fact, in the 1940's during World War 2, the United States Government was running
'Hemp for Victory' commercials on TV. Why was this ?
Because our government felt we needed hemp to win this war too.

Coca and Poppy plant extracts in America

Now I am not going to go into a lot of detail on this one, I will give you the short version. For more information, please use the links on the right of this page. Cocaine comes from the coca plant. If you chew on coca leaves, it gives the effect of mild speed. You have more energy, stamina, and some even say it helps you to think clearer. Because of these facts, people from all over the world wanted to try this plant. The problem, it only grows in very warm climates. So many years ago people figured out how to extract the drug from the plant as I talked about higher on this page. This made it possible to turn 100's of tons into 100's of pounds. This was good for the importers and exporters, but bad for the consumers health.

Opium on the other hand, comes from the poppy plant. Between 1850 and 1900, mass quantities were coming into America. It was used for pain and recreation by many Americans in those years. At the time, no one seemed to know it was addictive, so it was widely abused. Making things worse was the fact that it was available over the counter without a prescription. Since this was before the invention of aspirin, most Americans used these plant extracts from time to time. With different refining methods, heroin and morphine also became popular poppy extracts in the late 1800's. By the early 1900's our Government saw the addiction problem and decided to do something about it. Sadly, instead of educating the public and turning it into a health issue, they decided to make it a legal issue instead. In my eyes, that was the beginning of the end for America being the Land of the Free and the home of the brave. To this day our kids are still being lied to in schools about these plant all across America. Also, to this day hospitals in every state in America still use poppy extracts like morphine everyday for treatment of pain etc...

Designer Drugs

Designer drugs have been around for many years. I am not going to talk about them much, because it is a very discouraging and energy draining subject for me. The reason it bothers me so much is as follows... Even though designer drugs have been around for many years, most of the designer drugs on the streets today that are killing people, didn't exist when the war on drugs was started. Most of the designer drugs like 'ecstasy' that are killing people, were made because of the war on drugs. When the war was started, it was mostly God's plants and extracts from God's plants that they were trying to stop. By declaring this war our Government opened up a whole new field of organized crime. Their goal was to put man made chemicals together to make all new substances that there were no laws for. This way if they were caught with drugs, it would be something that was an unknown substance with no laws against it. By doing this, the creators of several of these drugs, have been arrested over the years and let go for lack of evidence.
Now tell me... Do you think that repercussion of this war on drugs is good for America ?

Closing footnote: Yes all drugs talked about on this page are available in
"Any City U.S.A.", everyday. Making things worse, most surveys show drug use in America as higher now than when the war on drugs was started.  It is time to stop the madness and end this unconstitutional war now !

Police have no legal duty to respond and prevent crime or protect the victim !

There have BEEN OVER 10 various supreme and state court cases the individual has never won. Notably, the Supreme Court STATED about the responsibility of police for the security of your family and loved ones is "You, and only you, are responsible for your security and the security of your family and loved ones. That was the essence of a U.S. Supreme Court decision in the early 1980's when they ruled that the police do not have a duty to protect you as an individual, but to protect society as a whole."
