As everyone knows, the U.S. Constitution established a "REPRESENTATIVE
form of government" with an elected Congress to make laws and an elected
President to either veto or execute them and otherwise administrate the government.
Not surprisingly, the REPRESENTATIVE system was immediately corrupted by
money interests that gained control or influence over politicians who
could personally benefit in one form or another by the material support,
even if it was nothing more than election to public office.
The truth is that the Constitution and government of the U.S. has never
reflected the simple WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, especially in foreign
policy! While polls showed that most Americans have been opposed or
sharply divided over U.S. military violence and involvements, it has
continued from the days of aggression across the North American
continent to invasion in foreign lands.
For the record, "the War of 1812 was so controversial that New
Englanders seriously considered seceding from the Union to avoid
supporting it. The Mexican-American War aroused such passion that
Abraham Lincoln gave a stirring speech in Congress against it", said
author Richard Shenkman in his book "I Love Paul Revere Whether He Rode or Not" (1991).
The Spanish American War provoked a national debate about imperialistic
aggression, and World War I in Europe divided the U.S. government to the
extent that Secretary of State William Jennings Bryan resigned his
office in protest. Almost as many people were opposed to the Korean War
as ultimately condemned the Vietnam War forcing its end, and the current
war in Iraq appears equally unpopular.
The U.S. was involved in SEVERAL HUNDRED wars and other military
operations in which only five were declared "war" by Congress, according
to the research of Michael Kronenwetter, author of "The Military Power of the President" (1998).
The sad truth of the REPRESENTATIVE form of government in the U.S. is
that it more accurately represents what President Dwight Eisenhower
warned was a dangerous "Military-Industrial Complex" (bearing such
labels as Illuminati, Cabal, and New World Order).
It is well known that military forces thrive on the expenditure of tax
monies for weapons and equipment, war industries thrive on tax funds to
pay for these things, and the American people are coerced like sheep to
pay the tax bill and shed blood on ever-expanding battlefields around
the world on one excuse or another, including a "terrorist threat". Is
it not possible that U.S. expansionist policies have played into the hands of terrorists?
The bottom line is, the U.S. government consistently serves the
Military-Industrial Complex and fails to represent the true desires of most Americans.
