TAKING ON THE PNAC
The Project for the New American Century,
commonly called the PNAC,
appears to be just another initialed group to many. Few U.S. citizens
are aware of the organization and its goals...
...In 1997, the PNAC published
its agenda. It is no secret. The group has a
website (www.newamericancentury.org)
on which it states the 21st century
is America's time to take over the world militarily. It designates
areas
of the world by numbers and how and why to get them conquered.
Sounds like a bunch of nutcases. Well,
the signers of the statement of
principles are, but, unfortunately, many are well-entrenched in today?s
U.S. administraton: Elliott Abrams, Gary Bauer, William Bennett, Dick
Cheney, Eliot A. Cohen, Zalmay Khalizad, I. Lewis Libby, Donald
Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz are just some of the signers. Even Jeb Bush...

Bush Sneaks Social Security Plan into
Budget
Last year, even though Bush talked endlessly about the supposed joys of
private accounts, he never proposed a specific plan to Congress and never
put privatization costs in the budget. But this year, with no fanfare
whatsoever, Bush stuck a big Social Security privatization plan in the
federal budget proposal, which he sent to Congress on Monday.

William Rivers Pitt:
Trapped Like a Rat
The funeral for civil rights
leader Coretta Scott King
on Tuesday was quite a sight to see...
...George W. Bush heard on Tuesday some hard truths that his fanatical
insulation has to date spared him from. It may have been the healthiest
moment this republic has absorbed in years.
President Jimmy Carter, who has come to be one of the harshest critics of
Mr. Bush, hurled fire across the stage over the deplorable administration
response to Hurricane Katrina. "This commemorative ceremony this morning
and this afternoon is not only to acknowledge the great contributions of
Coretta and Martin, but to remind us that the struggle for equal rights is
not over," said Carter. "We only have to recall the color of the faces of
those in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi, those who were most
devastated by Katrina, to know that there are not yet equal opportunities
for all Americans."
Carter also took a moment to drop a brick over the recent revelations that
the NSA has been spying on Americans, without court approval or warrants,
at the behest of Mr. Bush. "It was difficult for them personally," said
Carter, "with the civil liberties of both husband and wife violated as
they became the target of secret government wiretapping, other
surveillance, and as you know, harassment from the FBI."
By far, the harshest criticism came from Rev. Joseph Lowery, a King
protégé, who spoke of Mrs. King's staunch opposition to the occupation of
Iraq. "She deplored the terror inflicted by our smart bombs on missions
way afar," said Lowery. "We know now there were no weapons of mass
destruction over there. But Coretta knew, and we knew, that there are
weapons of misdirection right down here. Millions without health
insurance. Poverty abounds. For war, billions more, but no more for the
poor."...

NSA's Vast Spying Yields Few Suspects
Intelligence officers who eavesdropped on thousands of Americans in overseas

A release from John Tanner (D-TN)
Washington, D.C. - President George W. Bush and the

Throughout the first 224 years (1776-2000) of our nation's history, 42 U.S.

in 2001, the median income in this country has decreased, the jobless

Inflation has gone up. Personal bankruptcies have gone up. Consumer debt

lady's dress, and began to take off her underwear. Suddenly I noticed
that there were several cabs -and I was in the wrong one. Submitted by
Dr. Mark MacDonald, San Antonio, TX.
2. At the beginning of my shift I placed a stethoscope on an elderly
and slightly deaf female patient's anterior chest wall. "Big breaths,"
I instructed. "Yes, they used to be," replied the patient. Submitted by
Dr.. Richard Byrnes, Seattle, WA
3. One day I had to be the bearer of bad news when I told a wife that
her husband had died of a massive myocardial infarct. Not more than
five minutes later, I heard her reporting to the rest of the family
that he had died of a "massive internal fart."
Submitted by Dr. Susan Steinberg, Manitoba, Canada
4. During a patient's two week follow-up appointment with his
cardiologist, he informed me, his doctor, that he was having trouble
with one of his medications. "Which one?" I asked. "The patch. The
nurse told me to put on a new one every six hours and now I'm running
out of places to put it!" I had him quickly undress and discovered what
I hoped I wouldn't see. Yes, the man had over fifty patches on his body!
Now, the instructions include removal of the old patch before applying a
new one.
Submitted by Dr. Rebecca St. Clair, Norfolk, VA
5. While acquainting myself with a new elderly patient, I asked, "How
long have you been bedridden?" After a look of complete confusion she
answered..."Why, not for about twenty years - when my husband was
alive." Submitted by Dr. Steven Swanson, Corvallis, OR
6. I was caring for a woman and asked, "So how's your breakfast this
morning?" "It's very good, except for the Kentucky Jelly. I can't seem
to get used to the taste" the patient replied. I then asked to see
the jelly and the woman produced a foil packet labeled "KY Jelly."
Submitted by Dr. Leonard Kransdorf, Detroit, MI
7. A nurse was on duty in the Emergency Room, when a young woman with
purple hair styled into a punk rocker Mohawk, sporting a variety of
tattoos, and wearing strange clothing, entered. It was quickly
determined that the patient had acute appendicitis, so she was scheduled
for immediate surgery. When she was completely disrobed on the
operating table, the staff noticed that her pubic hair had been dyed
green,
and above it there was a tattoo that read, "Keep off the grass."
Once the surgery was completed, the surgeon wrote a short note on the
patient's dressing, which said, "Sorry, had to mow the lawn."

embarrassment I had unconsciously formed a habit of whistling softly.
The middle-aged lady upon whom I was performing this exam suddenly
burst out laughing and further embarrassing me.
I looked up from my work and sheepishly said, "I'm sorry. Was I tickling
you?" She replied, "No doctor, but the song you were whistling was, "I

will be able to monitor corporate activity in real time. We cannot do this
alone; we need an army of Blue buyers to be the eyes and ears of this movement.
All we have to do is put our money where our mouth is to make it profitable to
be ethical.
Our collective buying power WILL make a difference, and we WILL be heard.

WASHINGTON - A newly declassified document
gives a fascinating glimpse
into the US military's plans for "information operations" - from
psychological operations, to attacks on hostile computer networks.
Bloggers beware...
When it describes plans for electronic warfare, or EW, the document takes
on an extraordinary tone.
It seems to see the internet as being equivalent to an
enemy weapons system.
"Strategy should be based on the premise that the Department [of
Defense] will 'fight the net' as it would an enemy weapons system," it
reads...

What is a Billion?
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one
advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into
perspective in one of its releases:
A billion seconds ago - it was 1959.
A billion minutes ago - Jesus was alive
A billion hours ago- our ancestors were living in
the Stone Age.
A billion dollars ago -
was only 8 hours and 20
minutes, at the
rate that the Federal Government in Washington D.C. spends it.
Here is what he had to say...
1 Billion Seconds ago it was 1973 not 1959
1 Billion Minutes ago Jesus had died and been risen for over 60 years
Depending on the Budget the 8hrs 20min might actually be a lot faster.
(The 8.333hrs is dependent on a yearly budget of 1.051 Trillion dollars)
His source: www.snopes.com
Since the annual budget that President Bush proposed for the up coming year is
over 2.4 Trillion dollars... That would mean that our government is now spending
your tax dollars at the rate of over 2 billion dollars every 8 hours !
*****************
Despite what President Bush says, the war on Iraq is not over. The cost of this
war to the American tax payer is going up every second. Since we can't put a
price on human lives, we will just give you the figures in tax dollars that the
American tax payers have paid as of right now. These figures were provided by
the Costofwar.com
website.
